ZeppARITA

Listen to what friends are saying

1 oz. Citrónge

1 oz. Cointreau

1 oz. Grand Marnier

The quantity of ingredients above are enough to make 2 large mouth watering Zepp©ARITA's.   Here's how.....

Start by squeezing fresh limes and lemons.   I use a ratio of two limes to one lemon.   Don't worry about straining the pulp, for this is a blended drink.   Just don't forget to discard the seeds.   You might even add a little lemon and lime zest for an extra burst of tartness.   Make sure you squeeze enough for a couple of batches.

Pour all the liquid ingredients into a blender and add about two tablespoons powdered sugar.   You can add more or less depending on your desired sweetness.   I just add what looks right to me and in time, you will do the same.

IngredientsAdd ice just covering the liquid and liquify at high speed.   Add more ice slowly until the drink becomes smooth but not too icy.

Enjoy the drinks in two large long stemmed wine glasses.   Salted rims are optional depending on your taste.

If you have trouble finding Citrónge, you may substitute it with an additional ounce of Cointreau.   I normally use El Tesoro de Don Felipe Añejo, 100% Agave Tequila.   This is a smooth good tasting premium tequila, yet not too costly.

For added flavor, try adding a small amount of fresh pineapple to the drink before blending.   Not too much though, a little goes a long way.   Since the classic margarita recipe calls for a 2:1:1 ratio of Tequila, Lime Juice and Orange Liqueur, you might float a little tequila on top of the drink, to maintain the tartness yet add an extra kick.

I hope you try my Zepp©ARITA and enjoy it as much as I do.   If so, drop me a line and let me know what you think.
